Kamagra is a so-called “generic Viagra” drug sold in India. It is Sildenafil citrate, which is commonly sold as Viagra in the South Africa by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer. However, Pfizer’s patent claim to the drug does not apply in India, and the drug is sold under several names, include Kamagra. Kamagra is sold by the pharmaceutical company Ajanta Pharma, which is a multinational Indian company headquartered in Mumbai. Sildenafil citrate is also sold in India under the brand names Silagra, Edegra, Penegra and Zenegra. Pfizer has patent claims in the United States, but it’s patent claims for the drug in the EU, Canada, China and other countries have either expired or are not enforced, creating a wide variety of generic varieties of the drug, as there are in India.
Drugs like Kamagra and other sildenafil citrates are used to treat erectile dysfunction (commonly called ED) and hypertension, and acts by inhibiting enzyme that regulates the flow of blood to the penis. Recently, the drug has also been found to be useful in treating high-altitude pulmonary edema, or altitude sickness, of the type that sometimes afflicts mountain climbers. Kamagra is available as a tablet and an oral jelly and both forms are widely available for sale online. It is seen by many as a cheaper alternative to the expensive Pfizer drug viagra.
Sildenafil was discovered in Kent, England by Pfizer’s researchers. Initially, it was tested as a treatment for heart disease and hypertension. It was discovered that it had little use for treatment of heart diseases, but it did have use as a treatment for erectile dysfunction. In 1998 the drug was patented as an oral treatment for that purpose.
Like many other drugs in the South Africa, it is marketed directly to consumers even though it is only available via a prescription. Because Kamagra and other generics or alternatives can be obtained without a prescription, consumers sometimes turn to obtaining these drugs online.
The drug is increasingly used recreationally, because people believe the drug will increase libido, athletic performance and even penis size. However, studies do not show any positive effects for people not suffering from erectile dysfunction. A recent study did show that the drug, dissolved in the water for a plant, will keep the plant alive and healthy for much longer than it would be without the drug.
Tadalafil and Vardenafil, sold in the South Africa as Cialis and Levitra, respectively, are the primary competitors for sildenafil on the market. The three drugs work in the same way, chemically and biologically. The drugs work to treat erectile dysfunction by a relaxation of the arteries in the penis. Without sexual stimulation, an erection should not occur.
